A Letter to My Son on His First Birthday...

Enzo Ray Jose,  

You are ONE today! I can't believe it. This year has been one of the best year's of my life. Our family feels so complete now that you are here. Your daddy adores you, your sisters can't get enough of you; and me...honestly, I hold back tears every single time I think of you. The way you wrap your arms around my neck and squeeze me, the way your little ankles and feet twist and turn every time you see me, and the way you scrunch your nose and show your teeth when you're happy... I die. I can't wait to see the little boy and man you turn into. I pray that you as you grow, you come to know the sweet love of Jesus Christ—that you seek Him with your whole heart. I also pray that you will keep the tenderness you've exuded since the day you were born. I have never met a more calm, peaceful, and tender baby in my life. YOU ARE SPECIAL.

Here's to many many years ahead for you, my sweet handsome. There are bound to be battles along the way, but nothing you can't face without God and your family. You were born into one of the best, believe me. We love you, we are here for you, and we will be your biggest encouragers.
